Lisa Brady-Program Director

Being able to bike and walk to work or school means a lot to me. I grew up on a farm, 9 miles from school, so the school bus or a car trip were my only options. We had roller skates we used on the barn floor and we’d ride bikes on our gravel driveway, having long skid contests and trying to ride to the bus stop (hills!) I’d call that the OG gravel ride! I also loved visiting my grandparents in Portland, Oregon,  where we could skate and bike on smooth sidewalks, what a revelation! Fast forward to today, and I still see the incredible value of being able to walk, bike, or roll to places and with this job I’m able to help shape the safety of our youth on the roads, PLUS advocate for sidewalks and bike lanes in our neighborhoods. It’s my pleasure to also serve on several active transportation committees in Boise and Ada County. “Mobility is not defined by how many wheels you have, it’s about how you can move.” (that’s me) My nickname is Safety Officer Brady, but I still like to have fun on a bike. Let’s Ride!

Alex Hackett- Coordinator Canyon County

Active transportation really entered my life in 2008 when I decided to bike across America. I have since cycled across the country twice and continue to ride for fun and to get around town. Bicycling has helped shaped my life and introduced me to a new way to view transportation, health and the type of community I want to live in. Being able to help progress my community’s infrastructure and share the joys about walking and biking with children and adults is what fuels me. I enjoy educating and problem solving on how to make transportation and safety more integrated with our daily lives.

Charlie Hill-Coordinator Ada County

I moved to Boise in February of 2019 to seek my fortune as a VRT Safe Routes Coordinator. I am a native of Columbia, Missouri, a small city that is home to the University of Missouri. Columbia is a great place to walk, ride a bike or be outdoors and I have been immersed in the outdoor and bike scene through jobs for a bike shop, an athletic events company and a Parks and Rec bicycle education program. I also lived in St. Louis, Missouri for three years where I was an instructor for a kids’ mountain bike camp and worked for bike shops and Co-ops. I also spent part of 2018 as a coordinator and driver for the Edward Jones Walk Across America to End Alzheimer’s. This job involved living in a RV and helping groups of participants traverse the distance between San Diego and St Louis at a rate of 20 miles a day, through the deserts of Arizona and the wilds of New Mexico. I’ve had a wide variety of experience that I would like to think will help me bring the joy of active transportation to kids and adults here in Boise! When I’m not riding my bike I enjoy traveling, camping and running with my wife and my dog.

Jake Holub-Coordinator Ada County

Jake believes in the transformative power of active transportation, which has changed his life and helps foster lifelong healthy habits. As the Safe Routes to School Program Coordinator at Valley Regional Transit, he works to create safer, more accessible pathways for students and families to walk, bike, and roll. In his free time, Jake enjoys extended bike trips, exploring the outdoors, and gardening.

Cody Goettl-Coordinator Ada County

I am originally from western Wisconsin and have been using my bicycle as a means of transportation since third grade. I loved having those two miles of freedom before going to school at such a young age and have continued that pursuit all throughout my life. Being a SRTS coordinator allows me to take my gained knowledge and teach kids how to live their best lives on two wheels. In addition to being a SRTS coordinator, I am also an League Cycling Instructor, USA Cycling coach, elite mountain and road racer and full-time commuter. When I’m not on my bike, I am most likely on my roller blades running my dogs and cat! Keep er’movin’!
